This is not a double, large group site, it is a single site. But the camp host were very helpful and allowed us to use site 27 and 28.

Our campsite for 6 seemed small for 2 tents. One tent had to be placed right next to the fire pit and grill since it was the only flat area, so we never used those items at our site. The neighboring campsites were quite loud until midnight and beyond - with no ranger coming around to maintain quiet hour rules, which made it very difficult for everyone including young kids to sleep.
On the positive side, the lake was within walking distance and it was lovely setting up a tent and enjoying lunch next to the water and rafting in the lake.

Clean fun and relaxing! Super low key campground d where you can leave you stuff at the beach and not worry about theft or vandalism.

Our camp host Kevin Young and his dog Sasha were wonderful. They made our trip worth it.
Campsites were clean and so were the bathrooms. On any given evening you could find Mr.Young our camp host, picking up trash along the lake. That the thoughtless "day use folks" left that day. With a caring smile on his face he tries to make sure all have a great experience at Shirttail campground. Big thanks from Leslie and Frank

What a gem of a campground. Lake access is very easy, and the trail around the lake is absolutely awesome. The water is very clean and actually pretty warm for this elevation. The camp host (Kevin, I believe) is another major plus - very helpful and knowledgeable.
Why not 5 stars? If it weren't for the above positives, this would be a 3-star review.
• Site 27 should absolutely not be marked as a group site or even charged as one. The "driveway" is split into two parking spots that are in the main route through the campground. And room for only one tent.
• The RV dump station has been closed for years. It should be open if they are going to rent this place to RV's.
We got very lucky that 2 of the first-come, first-served sites were open, and the camp host was able to split us into those.

What another amazing season! I got 3 different visits in. The camp host is just the best and a wealth of knowledge and truly cares for the campground.
The water was beautiful. Everyone was quiet by 10pm per guidelines.
Can’t wait for next year!

I love this spot. There’s a cool trail to walk and it’s pretty easy. A little long but it’s something to do. It’s very family friendly.

Great campground! Short walk to the lake and well maintained. Pit toilets are very clean and odor free. We love that we can easily fit our 30’ travel trailer into several of the spots

Absolutely love this place. We reserved spot 30 and it was beautiful with enough sun and shade. Will definitely return and reserve the same spot.
