Giant Gap campground is praised for its stunning lake views, clean campsites, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite for many campers. Visitors enjoy various water activities, hiking trails, and the campground's overall beauty, although some noted issues with noise from nearby shooting and generator use. Beautiful campsite and view of lake. Only thing was lots of shooting in the nearby forest areas, but I would still come back.

the location by the lake is great, we had the whole campground to ourselves. I think it being the end of the camping season and kids going back to school made for the emptiness of campground. Being in the foothills of the Sierras is awesome in itself. There is no connectivity to internet, phones or hookups at the camp sites, but that is the beauty.

We enjoyed our time here. We went in September, so it was not over-crowded. The lake level was a little lower, which made the shore line easier to access. We planned on buying firewood while we were up there, but it was late in the season and they were completely out, so we ended up not having any campfires. Sound really travels across the lake. Someone with property nearby was shooting their gun a lot, daily. They probably have a little personal shooting range on their property. The constant sound of gun shots was a little hard to get used to. The trail around the lake is a perfect hike, we enjoyed doing that. The campsites themselves are very nice. The bathrooms are super dark and super stinky. We were hoping to meet the camp host, but they were reclusive and we never saw them. The area is very pretty and I did not see any poison oak. We will definitely come back.

Very clean sites. We were there Sunday through Tuesday so im not sure how the noise is on the weekend since the sites are pretty close to each other but we didn’t have a noise issue and were able to walk to the water no problem.

The campsite is lovely! So beautiful. There are water spigots situated close to every site and the bathrooms are clean. The reservoir is refreshing and fun. My reason for taking one star off is because we managed to book the one campsite right next to the campground host. She was a lovely lady; however, her generator was not. I want to go camping to hear nothing but the birds and crickets, not the drone of a generator 20 miles from any town. Be wary about booking campsite #12 as it is right next to the host. She is courteous about quiet hours and keeping it down at night, however it did detract from my experience slightly.

Super quick walk to the lake, which was great! There was a hornets nest at our site, and we got stung/bit the first night.
The host would periodically drive around and take care of the bathrooms, but they never came by our site or talked to us.

Giant Gap campground has been a favorite of ours for many years, it is a beautiful area & the Lake is gorgeous!
Note: For some reason there are many trees that have been cut & dropped all around the campsites & just left to rot?????
{Do not understand why the trees would not be harvested for the wood, instead of just left, On the other hand there is a lot of wood that could be cut up & used for firewood, if you have a battery chainsaw to cut it!!!)

Always clean and a lot of fun. Rangers and camp host do a great job at keeping it enjoyable for everyone. (No radios that can be heard beyond your own camp site, no loud drunks).
The trails are beautiful and there's great swimming. I go there every year.
