Panther Flat Campground is a well-maintained and clean facility, featuring hot coin showers, flushing toilets, and spacious campsites that provide good privacy. Campers appreciate the friendly hosts and the beautiful natural surroundings, including access to the nearby Smith River and hiking trails. While it can get busy in the summer and occasional noise from other campers or road traffic is noted, many visitors still find it a pleasant and enjoyable camping experience overall.

We found human excrement in our camp site but has an otherwise good experience. Pretty spot. River access wasn't great.

Very clean and beautiful campground. The host was very nice and kept things quiet after 10pm. Showers were hot with good pressure. Bring quarters. We could hear the river all day and night. Decent swimming hole at the river.

Location was amazing! So close to Jedediah (a must see) and an amazing calm past of the river right next door to splash in. Nice and quiet as well.

Came here on a fishing trip with kids. Camp host helpful, campground is in good shape, and close to river. However access to campgrounds can be blocked by forest service maintenance staff without notice. They work at a *very* casual, relaxing pace...while blocking the only road in and out. After waiting a while, we decided to back out to the entrance and back into our campsite.

The same lazy maintenance staff lady comes around after another 15 minutes of blocking the only road in and identifies as a "federal agent" and makes all kinds of threats with the kids watching. So be warned of the USFS employees we encountered in this local area are lazy AF and on power trips to flex on campers that they're "federal agents".

No thanks, we can stick to camping at NPS and BLM where employees are down to earth...not this USFS b.s. it would be like camping at FBI property with the way these forest service employees act. Take your "federal" bs and flush it we will not come back

Beautiful park, well equipped and daily maintained, we stayed 7 days, fishing is fun and rewarding, much to see in the area, some nice local swimming holes. One of the highlights of the week was our Host who went well out of his way to make sure everyone was happy, he does a great job.. Crescent City has everything you need before you go up river. All the big box stores etc., good quiet Tractor Supply well stocked.

Great forested campground with large sites, running water, and pay showers (~$1.50 for 7 minutes). We appreciated the recycling for aluminum, and glass. Camp ground is on the high ground along the river, a (walkable) picnic area is adjacent to the campground along the river. Every camp site appeared to be well shaded. Mosquitoes were around in early June, but nothing horrible.
