What Guests Are Saying
Cherry Valley campground offers a clean, well-maintained environment with friendly hosts, particularly JJ, who is praised for his helpfulness. The restrooms are consistently clean, and the scenic Cherry Lake provides a peaceful setting, though access involves a steep hike. While some campers noted the remote location and challenges finding activities, most enjoyed the spacious campsites and overall positive camping experience, with many expressing a desire to return.

The camp post Harriet was fenomenal. We have been going to camping for the last 21 years to Cherry Lake (camp site 10 to be exact) and I have never seen the restrooms and the camp ground as clean as they were this last time. She was also very clear explaining the camp regulations and at the same time not very intrusive.

Loved our stay here. We stayed at campsite 3 and had plenty of space and tree shade for most of the day. Our camp host was so amazing and friendly. These were the cleanest restrooms I've ever experienced at a campsite! It was dry and hot and kinda smokey from the fires, but it was still an awesome stay. The sites are a little close together, but it's a great camp ground for anyone looking.

The campground itself is excellent, well maintained and cared for. What wasn't so pleasant was the 24 mi, 1 hour drive on very twisty and sometimes very steep forest road once you leave 120. Coming in from Evergreen Road is less curvy but just as bad because of that road's poor condition. We had reserved something like 5 nights at Cherry Valley, but only ended up staying for two because I felt the annoying drive every day would dissuade us from going out and exploring Yosemite. I didn't deduct stars for these things because they don't reflect the campsite itself, which was great.

So I’ve stayed at many campsites and thought the past reviews of winding roads seemed a bit exaggerated. It truly wasn’t a exaggeration so if you tend to get motion sickness I don’t recommend.
Campsite was very clean and maintained. Never met anyone while I was there seemed to be empty when leaving.
This is what made our stay absolutely horrible… Yellowjackets and bumble bees! We couldn’t do anything without being swarmed. When we even tried to cook they started to become aggressive and began to attack as we packed up. I was stung repeatedly. We just packed and left to another campsite. Horrible experience.
