What Guests Are Saying
Cherry Valley campground offers a clean, well-maintained environment with friendly hosts, particularly JJ, who is praised for his helpfulness. The restrooms are consistently clean, and the scenic Cherry Lake provides a peaceful setting, though access involves a steep hike. While some campers noted the remote location and challenges finding activities, most enjoyed the spacious campsites and overall positive camping experience, with many expressing a desire to return.

We have been going to Cherry lake for three years and have had an amazing experience every time. Jay-Jay is an amazing groundskeeper. He is very informative and does a great job with kids. Bathroom and campground is super clean. We will definitely be retuning soon.

Beautifully remote camping location! Most campsites are in the shade which is fantastic. Can't wait to come back.

The camp site was fantastic and JJ the site host was very welcoming and helpful. Only note is to be sure you have cash with you if you extend your stay once you’re on site because you can’t do that on the website.

Went on a quick solo camping trip with my pup to check this place out before bringing the whole family, and I had a really good time. The camp host was friendly and informative. The campsites were clean, with plenty of good spots to choose from. I stayed at Site 5, which had tons of space. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've personally ever seen.
The water is a little difficult to get to and from, so make sure you don't forget anything and try to keep your hands free. The water was warmer than other places I've been to this year, which was nice since it wasn't the hottest day. The road in also adds a significant amount of travel time because it's narrow and winding.

Our family had a great time here, we swim at the lake but we had hard time finding it. You need to hike/climb into rocks. No shower , toilet is portable but they always clean it. You have to pay parking $10/day per car if you go beyond the car limit. Our tent site is very spacious and shady.

Cherry Valley is a special place. My husband and I were in awe of the beauty and peacefulness. JJ is the most helpful campsite host and takes very good care of the whole camp area. We hope to return soon.

Start out by saying our camp host JJ was the most welcoming I've ever experienced. He lent us his kayak and talked to us about many things. Went here as a mom with my two littles Monday - Thursday and there was no one around us, super quiet. I do have to say the bench/table was very high off the ground and it was hard for the two year old to get up and down. The creek runs right behind this site and the evening water running was so nice. The sun does hit this site during this day a lot. The one level spot for a tent was quite small and our bigger tent had to be put on a little bit of a slope. The walk down to the lake was right next door - a bit of a gnarly hike down but we made it.

We stayed at the group campsite over Fourth of July weekend and had a wonderful experience! The drive to the campground was long and winding, but the drive was pretty and seeing all the trees along the way was worth it. The weather was perfect (surprisingly mild for this time of year) which made spending the entire weekend outdoors very comfortable.
The group site was great. It felt secluded and surrounded by trees so our group had plenty of privacy while still being conveniently close to the restrooms and a water source. The camp hosts were friendly and welcoming. They did an excellent job keeping the restrooms and campground facilities clean, and the trash cans were always emptied throughout our stay. We didn't encounter or have any issues with wildlife getting into our food or belongings. There were also very few mosquitoes, which was a huge bonus.
The short hike down to the lake was a fun outing for our families with young kids. Its steep rocky access was not appropriate for a beach lounging day but we got to see the waterfall and enjoy the view before turning back. The nearby boat launch (which was a short 5-10 min drive away) did have a nice shaded beach area where the kids spent hours fishing and playing in the water. We spent all of 4th of July posted up in this area.
One unexpected highlight was discovering a bird's nest inside a hole in a tree stump along the path to the bathroom. Watching the mama bird care for her baby became a favorite activity for our kids and added such a special touch to the trip.
By the end of the weekend, many people in our group commented that they would happily come back again in the future.
Thank you for a great stay—we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful stay. No cell service (T-Mobile) but it was nice to be completely unplugged for the few days we were here.
Great camp hosts, clean facilities. Would come back again!
