What Guests Are Saying
Cherry Valley campground offers a clean, well-maintained environment with friendly hosts, particularly JJ, who is praised for his helpfulness. The restrooms are consistently clean, and the scenic Cherry Lake provides a peaceful setting, though access involves a steep hike. While some campers noted the remote location and challenges finding activities, most enjoyed the spacious campsites and overall positive camping experience, with many expressing a desire to return.

Very pretty area. There is a .25 mi trail leading to cherry lake from the campground. Most of the sites on the main loop don’t have much privacy between them, but facilities are nice. Bathrooms are very clean. Water spigots are available throughout the campground, but due to a drought, the only one currently running is at the front of the campground. Highly recommend making a day trip to the hetch hetchy reservoir.

It felt almost impossible to get to Cherry Valley—about an hour and a half drive from the nearest town with no cell service on narrow winding roads with steep drop offs. While the scenery was beautiful, it was not worth the anxiety of navigating to get there.

This campground is only accessible by a 21 mi rocky unpaved two tire line dirt road with bushes growing in the middle. We were not able to drive down this road in our van and we had to look for alternate last minute lodging late at night- both unsafe and frustrating.
