What Guests Are Saying
Hobo Campground offers a great experience with nice hosts and clean facilities. Site 3 is spacious, shaded, and has creek access, making it ideal for winter camping despite some bug issues. However, maintenance could be improved, particularly regarding the cleanliness of the toilets.

We had so much fun at Hobo Campground, the river, and the hot springs. 10/10 would recommend

Our site was fine and we enjoyed hearing seeing lots of wildlife, especially birds. The bathrooms were not the cleanest but we're totally fine for our one night.

Beautiful campground on the Kern River. It is right next to the hotspri gd which was great. Unfortunately there was a lot of trash left in the campground and the restrooms were full of used toilet paper and the toilets were covered in shit.

There was no supervision here at all. No check in booth, no rangers driving by. People with fires burning all evening til night despite the fire restrictions. LOUD music on big speakers til 4:30am one night, 2am the other. Pit toilets soooo covered in shit it felt dangerous to get near them. Best thing was neighboring Miracle Hot springs. Hobo was pretty sketchy.

I been there after 5 years ago.
I am so disappointed this time.
5 cow family were on my site and cow drops everywhere.
Cannot find clean spot to setup tent.
Next camp people drinking all night until 4 AM. Pee everywhere.
Night time had so many bugs because cow drops.
Used to be a guy was on the site. No one there now dangerous and bad place.

Hobo was really pretty stuff. Waterfront campsites. Did have a big group blasting music til 3:30am. Had me wishing I’d paid more attention to the “has a host” portion of campsite reviews.

I was at the very same spot last week in July and second week of September, loved the spot. Only bad experience was the rest rooms, In July some one had a turn bend and blow episode in two of the stalls, in September they were still in the same condition, HORRIBLE, never cleaned. Paper was changed several times but no cleaning.

Lovely campsites and very close to Miracle Hot Springs which are also great. Must reserve online in advance (which costs $8 extra) and the 28$ fee ($36 a night) is kinda pricey for a campground with only pit toilets, no water, no showers.
