We have been going to Juanita Lake for approximately 7 years, it is a jewel and love to spend time there. We noticed the letter regarding an increase in camping fees posted on the billboard at the pay station. We don't mind paying more money for more services rendered, which doesn't seem to be the case at Juanita. Because for some reason a host cannot be hired to monitor activities, empty garbage, clean and stock restrooms..., the campground is looking less appealing. The loud music and people hollering obscenities degrades the experience at this lovely retreat! Since the logging operation, the road leading to Juanita has deteriorated from truck traffic. Also, the stretch of road between the logging and campground has several serious pot holes that haven't been repaired or even filled with gravel (easy fix), that could cause damage to your RV. The non-potable water system in the campground hasn't worked for several years.

Very secluded, quiet, and peaceful. The trail had some beautiful views with lots of wildlife sightings. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Juanita Lake!

Campsites were ok, I couldn't get two nights in a row so we had to move camps which wasn't easy, then our original camp had no one moved into it and the one we moved to had no one the night before. The screaming baby was not fun, and the bathrooms were in rough shape with bats and bat poop everywhere. The water was confusing, I believe it is non potable, the signs weren't clear. There was lots of firewood and it was beautiful.

I love it here. Nice campground and next to the lake. The paved path around the lake is a great walk.

A great little campground off the beaten path. The road up to the campground isn't very well maintained by the county but the campground itself is in great shape. The trail around the lake was a great little hike for the kids and they enjoyed Kayaking and Fishing in the lake. Definitely a great family campground.

The lake view included several duck families, osprey, and fisherpeople. The campground has seen many a camper but was clean with many chipmunks. The dog population was not under control. Restrooms were cleaned daily. There was no drinkable water. The campground needs a host. The paved walk around the lake is neat, though not used sufficiently. The scenery is beautiful and the mosquitoes plentiful. We have visited this lake area for 20 years
or more and will return.

Loved the lake and campsite. The campsites were spaced perfectly. Also each site was close to the bathrooms, which were clean and well kept. Im handicapped so i found the trail around the lake perfect. We definitely will be back.

WE had a great camping trip. We love the big spacious sites. Kayaking on the lake was a blast! It will be great when the drinkable water system is repaired.

Juanita Lake is one of our favorite campgrounds to go to. We go at least twice a year if not more itβs the best cat little hidden secret!

Really beautiful spot with a lovely trail around the lake. The camp host was a very nice guy who seemed to really enjoy his job and he was very good about checking to make sure we had what we needed and were doing well.
The main bummer - BYO drinking water. They really need an infrastructure overhaul on the water system apparently.

From I-5 at Weed, CA travel northeast on State Hwy 97 approximately 35 miles to Ball Mtn Road. Turn west (left) on Ball Mtn Road and go approximately 4 miles to Forest Service Road 46N04. Turn right on 46N04 and continue to Juanita Lake and campground.
From the north, traveling south on Hwy 97, turn west (right) approximately 3.8 miles south of the town of Macdoel on the Ball Mtn. Road. Travel approximately 4 miles to Forest Service Road 46N04. Turn right on 46N04 and continue to Juanita Lake and campground.
