What Guests Are Saying
Juanita Lake Campground is a beautiful, serene spot perfect for family gatherings and outdoor activities like kayaking and fishing. Many campers appreciate the spacious, well-kept sites and stunning scenery, although some have noted issues with the lack of potable water and campground oversight. While the road to the campground can be challenging and insect presence can be bothersome, overall, visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and plan to return.

Beautiful location, very nice campground. Have never seen a FS camp so nicely developed. Biggest issue is getting there: Google (and others ) often route you there via the north end of the lake using Meiss Lake Road. DO NOT go this way. FS seems to want to "blame" google on this, yet there is still a signpost on the Meiss Rd aiming you to take the narrow "ski trail' to Juanita Lake and The last few miles are very narrow with overgrown brush scraping along the sides of your vehicle. Instead come from the south using W Ball Mtn Little Shasta Rd - very smooth, very wide nice paved road!!
Camp host was great. Sites are spaced nicely. Bathrooms are clean.

The camp host is very friendly. The place is clean and beautiful. The only thing is the ongoing problem with the water. The forest service has been trying to get a grant to replace the deteriorated lines that are rotten and keep breaking. They spend thousands on it every season only to have a system made up of patches that keep giving out. Whoever keeps turning down the grant to fund a new system can't understand how important water is, not just for normal needs but for putting fires out also.

Very pretty campground with a nice walking path around the lake. Lots of critters to look at. Friendly chipmunks. Camp host was great. Peaceful. We had a wonderful time.

Very nice helpful host. Great well kept camp ground. Unpotable water is unacceptable. Come on forest service put some effort into getting this fixed! Also had a discussion with the forest service worker regarding the camp ground. She was very rude and could care less about our experience.

It doesn’t seem fair that we book it when there is water and we get there there’s no water we should not have to pay full price for a lack of water

Loved this location, but disappointed to find out water repairs had not yet been completed so potable water was not available.
