What Guests Are Saying
Old Shady Rest Campground offers a pleasant and well-maintained environment with spacious, level sites suitable for both tents and RVs. Its convenient location near town and various recreational activities adds to its appeal, while friendly hosts enhance the overall experience. Some minor drawbacks include occasional noise from nearby roads and the presence of ants, but these do not detract significantly from the campground's charm and cleanliness.

Easy access to town and trolly system. Campground is well used so we found it to be very dusty.

Campground host visited us shortly after we had set up camp. He was friendly and informative. The campsite was neat when we arrived and appreciate the new picnic tables. Love Old Shady Rest and sad that we were just passing through on this trip!

This is a well maintained campsite with enough space for tent or rv camping. Bathrooms are cleaned every day. The location is very convenient, its only minutes away from grocery stores and restaurants. Theres plenty of shade at the campsites.

Nice centrally located campground with good amenities. Campsites are large, flat, clean, and have plenty of room for parking. Sites, bathrooms and grounds were very well maintained.

Well maintained campground. My site was #33 which is long enough for a trailer and a vehicle, wide enough for a slide out. There is no dump station at Old Shady Rest. We had to towing the RV to New Shady, waited in a long line and paid $12 for dumping.

Simple basic campground attracts a lot of RVs. The site has little to no privacy. People obviously feed the chipmunks as they are very brazen in their behavior hard to scared off and to make it worse there are signs warning they carry the PLAGUE. But the biggest detractor was it’s in Mammoth I can’t see what others do in that town even if it was the best site in the world I wouldn’t return because of the town and the people in it. Be warned do NOT visit during holidays particularly 4th of July the town cares way more about making money of tourists than ensuring visitors have a safe and pleasant visit.
