What Guests Are Saying
Old Shady Rest Campground offers a pleasant and well-maintained environment with spacious, level sites suitable for both tents and RVs. Its convenient location near town and various recreational activities adds to its appeal, while friendly hosts enhance the overall experience. Some minor drawbacks include occasional noise from nearby roads and the presence of ants, but these do not detract significantly from the campground's charm and cleanliness.

It's a nice campground, quiet, with lots of level sites that are good for motorhomes or campers. The location is conveniently close to town and close to the sports park and trails. Unfortunately our site had a ton of ant hills and a lot of ants walking everywhere, which was annoying when we sat outside. We noticed ant hills on some of the other sites as well.

Great spot for camping with family and friends, the campsite is close to everything. We'll definitely be back for future camping.

Very kind camp host. Sites were spacious. Only downside was that our site was close to a road so you can hear trucks/cars going by. We were with kids who like vehicles so this was actually a positive thing lol but if going for quiet nature pick a site farther from the main entrance road.

It's a great and well maintained campground with clean restrooms and good amenities. Its close to the town center and other activities/sites are nearby. The main downside is the noise coming from nearby homes at night. Overall would still recommend based on convenient location.

The facilities could have been a little less covered in spiders and bugs. Otherwise it was pleasant

We stayed 2 nights. Unfortunately, this campground was not designed for large RVs (over 12' high and over 30' long). The sites are long, but narrow between large trees. Backing into the sites is challenging with trees and large boulders everywhere. Slideouts can also be challenging if the RV is not parked perfectly. We have two awnings, but only one could be fully extended due to nearby trees. This campground is best suited to medium or smaller sized trailers/RVs. Most water spigots are not located near the road, but rather in the middle in-between campsites. Lots of shade from tall trees and campsites are well spaced apart and large in general. Not a good campsite if relying on roof solar for our RV. Not a good place for our 13' high, 36' long RV.

Great camp ground. Very very quiet. Spotter a bear second night. Otherwise good experience.

Campground was nice and had clean bathrooms with flush toilets. I had cell service in my campsite. The town is basically just across the street but it isn’t noisy. My site had plenty of shade which I loved plus trees to hang my hammock. Bike trails and plenty of hiking trails nearby.
