Very nice quiet campground tucked away just outside of downtown Mammoth. Campsites give you a good amount of space and privacy. Good bathrooms and water sources.

I’ve been camping here for well over 30 years and have enjoyed every single year. The Camp Hosts are the best in the business! As far back as I can remember, the Camp Host have always been great. This year was no different. They all need a pay raise! The Campgrounds were perfect and the restrooms were clean and well serviced…Maybe one day, we could get some plumbing to the restrooms and make everyone happy…?

Nice campground. Much quieter than the Shady Rests coming into town. Great proximity to trailheads & amenities that Mammoth has to offer. Only wish people would figure out how to drive SLOW through campgrounds.

I have camped here every summer for 20 years and it’s truly a shame that the ATV/quad owners in giant RVs have ruined the experience over the last few years. They run their generators all night, play loud music, and speed around the campground on their ATVs late into the night. All of this is against the rules but the management/hosts do not do anything about it. This beautiful campground has become just an unsupervised RV park for entitled people.

We were actually at this site for 10 days (added one extra day later) and everything was great. Good weather, few bugs, no bears. Big family shared two sites. Bathrooms were clean and no trouble with anything.

It's a LONG dirt road to get there, but it's pretty nice! Sometimes, the bathrooms smell amazing. No joke. Great camp hosts.

Sherwin Creek did not disappoint. Site 76 was amazing and represented what the epitome of camping should be. We were close to the other sites, but far enough removed to have our own privacy and our own private access to the creek! Other campers you could tell wanted to explore our site to see the creek, but were nice enough to respect our site. We were able to set up hammocks right by the water, so lovely. One of the best sites ever in my opinion. The only down side, is you may not have easy access to the world-class hikes near Mammoth Lakes. However, I did not have a chance to explore, so there may be other hikes nearby. The hosts were very friendly and the facilities were clean.

Take U.S. Highway 395 to State Highway 203 to Mammoth Lakes. Take a left at the first traffic light in town onto Old Mammoth Road. Drive south 0.9 miles to Sherwin Creek Road. Turn left and proceed 1.5 miles to the campground.
Sherwin Creek is accessible via US Highway 395, which is approximately 13 miles to the east. From US 395, drivers can reach Mammoth Lakes and the campground via State Route 203.

General
- Access is via 1.5 miles on a two-lane gravel road
- Campground usually not clear of snow until late May or early June
- Campers bringing off-road vehicles must see the campground host regarding rules
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations
- Be bear aware; keep all food out of sight in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from area after eating; always keep a clean camp and do not feed any wild animals
- No electric hookups and no showers
- Only 2 pets per site allowed.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 924-5500, or the Mono Lakes Visitor Center, (760) 647-3044.
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Some sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. In accordance with standard industry practices, Inyo Recreation will assess an additional $10.00 extra vehicle fee per day for the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicle in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered one vehicle, and the third and fourth motorcycle are also considered one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
- Reserved Sites will be held until the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of the second day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Please call the office at 760-934-5795 if you need to inform the campground of an arrival time greater than 24 hours after your arrival date, or if you will not use your reservation whatsoever.
- Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.

- PASS DISCOUNTS: You must provide your pass and photo identification upon check in. If you received a pass discount for which you were not eligible, you must pay the difference in price upon arrival.
