Hope Valley Campground is highly praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and excellent camp host, Dave, who is noted for his friendliness and helpfulness. Many reviewers enjoyed the well-shaded and spacious sites, as well as the abundance of nearby recreational activities like fishing and hiking. The camp ground is one of our favorites. The water level in the west fork of the Carson river is low. Camp fires are prohibited even in the camp ground.

Great campground! Sites are well maintained with ample spacing. Campground hosts were very personable. The location next to the Carson river is scenic and has access to many great hikes and vistas. We will be back next year!

Nice campground, but very busy. Even though the camp host posted a "campground full" sign, there was a constant stream of cars driving through, presumably looking for first come, first served sites. The campground is situated in a nice spot - close to the West Fork of the Carson River, for early morning fishing, and a 10 minute drive to Blue Lakes for swimming, beach fun, kayaking, etc. Camp host was great. My family had fun, but overall my impression of the area was simply too many people. The area is being loved to death. The next time we camp here, it will be for a mid-week trip.

Hope valley campground is one of my top camping destinations because its located in a very scenic area next to the West Carson river, and also there are dozens of lakes and hiking trails located within a 10 mi radius. Also the campground hosts do a great job of maintaining the facility and are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the area. We actually had cell phone service the whole time we were there.
