The camp ground is one of our favorites. The water level in the west fork of the Carson river is low. Camp fires are prohibited even in the camp ground.

Great campground! Sites are well maintained with ample spacing. Campground hosts were very personable. The location next to the Carson river is scenic and has access to many great hikes and vistas. We will be back next year!

Nice campground, but very busy. Even though the camp host posted a "campground full" sign, there was a constant stream of cars driving through, presumably looking for first come, first served sites. The campground is situated in a nice spot - close to the West Fork of the Carson River, for early morning fishing, and a 10 minute drive to Blue Lakes for swimming, beach fun, kayaking, etc. Camp host was great. My family had fun, but overall my impression of the area was simply too many people. The area is being loved to death. The next time we camp here, it will be for a mid-week trip.

Hope valley campground is one of my top camping destinations because its located in a very scenic area next to the West Carson river, and also there are dozens of lakes and hiking trails located within a 10 mile radius. Also the campground hosts do a great job of maintaining the facility and are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the area. We actually had cell phone service the whole time we were there.

Although it was a maiden voyage in our new trailer, it was a great experience. My wife and I have been camping at Hope Valley Campground every year since 2013. The first time I camped at the Hope Valley campground was August of 1976. We've had good campground hosts and one bad one. The folks there this year were wonderful. As soon as we arrived they stopped by and checked to see if we needed anything. They were visible the entire 4 days we were there. There is always something to do up there. Fishing or kayaking at Upper and Lower Blue Lakes. Fishing on the West Fork of the Carson River. Plenty of places to hike. Campground spaces are far enough apart for the new normal of "social distancing". We'll be back next year.

Great fishing and hiking close to camp sites. Day trips to Tahoe, Carson City Nev. and Bodie Ca. are possible.

Dan and his wife were wonderful....we had some issues with our trailer and thank goodness he was there to help us. We have stayed at Hope Valley Campground numerous times in the last 45 years and have many lovely memories there. Campground is neat and tidy and we love it there.
