not enough allowed activities with dogs. But beyond that, very nice campground, large and quiet.

Be forewarned, some of these campsites are not what they are advertised to be. We reserved a campsite that was supposed to have a parking pad for a small camper van, but it ended up being a walk in site behind another campsite. Of course once you are in the park, there are no recreation.gov staff to help you, or any cell phone access to contact anyone. Awful experience. think twice before booking.

Nice park. Nice lake - a bit small but fun to kayak on (super easy, 1.3 mile around). Nobody at entry booth so we got no map or information. Really didn’t see hide nor hair of any park rangers or employees. Broken down showers were closed on busiest weekend of year! Great view of mount Lassen from lake. Lots of cool birds. Fun hike to Chaos Crag area. Relaxing campground but not very private. All in all 4 stars.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Manzanita Lake Campground, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of Lassen Volcanic National Park, this campground offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and well-maintained facilities.
Location and Scenery:
The setting is absolutely stunning. Manzanita Lake is a serene, picturesque spot with crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding forest and majestic Lassen Peak. The views are breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. It’s a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
Campsites:
The campsites are spacious, clean, and well-organized. Whether you’re in a tent, RV, or renting one of the cabins, you’ll find the sites to be well-equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-proof storage lockers. The spacing between sites provides a good amount of privacy, and the layout ensures you feel immersed in nature.
Facilities:
The campground facilities are top-notch. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained, with flush toilets and potable water readily available. The camp store is conveniently located and stocked with essentials, including firewood, snacks, and camping supplies. There are also laundry facilities, which are a nice touch for longer stays.

- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
