I stayed at this campground on labor day weekend and it was a horrible experience by the other campers. Several parties did not adhere to quiet hours. It felt like a bachelor party in someone's backyard, rather than staying at a national park. In addition, several families arrived late at night and also did not tend to their children letting them run around yelling while they set up camp. There are 4 loops, and a very large camp ground. Each loop has one bathroom and one water source. I will not be staying at this campground again, and advise others to stay at smaller campgrounds.

I had a wonderful experience. Manzanita Lake was beautiful, and I enjoyed the hikes that were accessible from that location. And just being in Lassen National Park was truly remarkable -- both in terms of its beauty and the geological wonders. I will definitely be returning. My only criticism would be that there is only the one shower facility, which is located next to the store, and the cost for using it is way too high (five dollars to get into the shower). Being in a National Park and all, one would think there would more shower accessibility -- since many campers like myself might be staying for quite a while and be going on many hikes -- so being able to shower becomes a bit of an issue. So a couple more showers at a lower cost would be greatly appreciated. But still, I loved being in Lassen, and Manzanita Lake was a fine campground, the lake itself and the views of the volcanic remnants were amazing. I had a great time. So, as I said, I will be returning. I hope as the next few years go by that the forests that were devastated by the wildfires will be returning as well!

Everything was great, the only thing I somehow missed was that our cabin had 4 bunk beds and we came prepared to sleep together in a bigger bed, but we made it work. The campground and lake were very peaceful. No mosquitoes (end of August), but there were yellow jackets around the water.
