Manzanita Lake

Manzanita Lake CG is a good location to see most of the National Park. Stayed here in late September. It was fairly quite, even without a camp host. No service, but Starlink was able to get about 250 mbps. Flush toilets worked and clean. Hot showers next to camp store for only $5 for the whole day. No issues. We had site A32, which was sloped a bit from front to rear, but we made it work with our 35' 5th wheel after we backed it into the pull through so the three on the inside of the turn didn't affect us. Close enough for a quick hike around Manzanita Lake, especially around sunset and Lassen Peak backdrop/mirrored on lake.

This campground has everything you need. Like most campgrounds, the bathrooms and showers need serious updating.

To busy but that’s to be expected at a national park campground even in this late of a season, some camper didn’t have any respect for other by running his generator for several hours I assume trying to recharge there batteries. Camp sites are to close your stacked in like cord wood…. Our site C5 was way off level downward slope and off camber had to ramp up the door side almost 5 inches had the seps set at max just to get into the trailer… I guy across from us had 2’ pieces of firewood under his stabilizers and they were at full extension his jack was also at full extension with about a foot of blocks under it…. Would I camp there again probably not but the trees were nics..
Again way to many people not respecting other campers noisy, loud music, loud talking way into the night, RVs driving down the camp way to fast.. Only saw one ranger once there the 4 days we were there, no one at the park entrance to check you in.. Even the camp host was no where to be found….

This was our first time visiting the Park. It was amazing. I hiked around the lake and got some beautiful pictures. Hopefully, next time I have time to hike Lassen Peak. Its so cool knowing about the history of this area and that we live not far from it. The camp site was clean and we enjoyed a campfire with some Smores. However, site A22 is way too tight for a 37' 5th wheel. The curved pad, large stump and the RR ties made it a challenge to park the rig. Definitely coming back but will reserve a different spot.

The worst National Park camping experience ever!
Arrived late afternoon and there was no one there to help with campground location or hand out park maps to get around park.
Couldn't find campground host and was eventually told by store employee that campground host didn't have site number and that it was an "online" only campground.
If i had questions then contact Recreation.gov for any info needed. The problem with that is there is no cell service or wifi avaliable so I had to drive out to get service and since I had no map it was hard to find services.
The next morning we drove back to entrance to get map and everyone was pleasant but nothing could be done at that point about refund.
I was informed by employees of their perspective on problems but I won't waste my time on those because nothing will be done about it. (It all starts at the very top!)

Stayed at this site 2 nights. The campground was pretty full and the site was level. The restrooms were clean and there were ADA bathrooms as well. This campground is at the entrance of the park and there are many trails nearby. There are services including a small camp store, fuel, etc.

Had a great night of camping at Manzanita Lake! Very peaceful and beautiful area. There's no wifi at the campground, but it is available at a nearby park shop. The camp store had all the essentials. Extra fee for use of the showers was the only downside

Reasonably nice sites, with easy access to a nice walk around the lake. Bathrooms were not lighted and in fair shape. But overall a good experience

Very well maintained, bathrooms clean, laundry acceptable. Great location and can’t beat the price!

Campsite was spacious and clean. It was very nice to have a built in permanent bear box at each campsite in order to store your food and other items. Showers were very nice, but $5 for a shower is way too expensive. It really should be included, but if they have to charge, one dollar or two at the very most should be the maximum charged.
