We had a great weekend camping in Lassen NP. The campground was very easy to find, and so was our site, which was spacious and comfortable—we had no problem fitting two small tents. The bathrooms were close by and always clean, and there were convenient water spigots nearby. Plus, the on-site store was well stocked, perfect for anything you might forget or need during your stay.
Since it's a well-developed and accessible campground (not remote), it was quite crowded, which is expected in summer. There were lots of families with kids and groups of young people, so it could get noisy at times. Still, the overall experience was very positive. It’s a comfortable, convenient, and well-maintained place—great if you're looking to camp with some extra amenities inside the park.

We stayed at Manzanita Lake Campground for two weeks. Everyone should know that you must reserve a site ahead of time. Even if you arrive and find a vacant site, you will find a sign that says the site is reserved. If there are vacant sites, you need to go onto Recreation.gov to reserve your site....this has become park policy. Be aware that there is limited cell service at Lassen Volcanic National Park.
Our two week stay was wonderful! However, there was very little park patrol, no campfire shows, and minimal naturalist talks (only Junior rangers) compared to previous years. We need to all become advocates for our National Parks!

We had a wonderful time at Creater Lake. We camped in loop E with our 22ft travel trailer. E15 was a little tight. We managed ok but had to navigate a few stumps and rocks while leaving but all worked out well in the end. The camp was quiet for the most part, well shaded by the tall pines. The camp wasn't overly dusty like some camps that are well trampled. We would definately stay here again.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
