Fantastic campground. Site 41 is the best campsite if you’re in a trailer or RV under 22 feet. The site backs right up to the creek. The camp hosts were really nice. We went the day before a big rain so the creek was full. All in all, great experience

I had an outstanding time at Wheeler Gorge! The hikes were very relaxed and beautiful! The visitors center was such a great experience getting to learn about all the different local birds and getting to experience them first hand! The camp hosts at the campground were so helpful and kind and I will definitely be returning!

The camp host was annoying. It seems like she believes that the host should be a curator of ones experience while camping, but honestly, unless there’s wood to be bought or tokens needed for showers, I’m not looking to interact with the host. She wouldn’t let me in without making sure I knew every single rule and the name of her husband. Also, she had to make sure I had exact directions to my site, when actually I take pleasure in finding it. It was just weird and she takes her job way too seriously.

It was pretty crowded and consequently load. My original site (56) was dank and there was no flat spot for a tent. I switched to a quieter more open (less dank) and flatter spot (33) and things did quiet down when the weekend crowd dissipated. It was nice to camp outside of town and as far a Ojai goes, lots to do and see. Beautiful area, lots of hiking and biking.

Pretty campground tucked between mountains. Check in was easy as the camp host was there to greet us. Most of our neighbors were asleep by 10 pm - this may have been partially due to the current no fires rule, but I was surprised how quiet it was. Only downside was our site (59) was behind the bathroom and there were some smelly whiffs when the wind blew in our direction.

The creek running under the trees through the campground creates a little paradise. The 'trail' is reallly short. Beware of the poison oak! Toilets were super clean. I lovve this campground

Beautiful spot! The kids had so much fun in the creek. Beware of poison oak though - it’s everywhere. And the bathrooms could use an extra refresh on hot days. All in all, v fun.

Beautiful location, but a disrespectful neighbor blasted their music and movies throughout all times of the day and even into the quiet hours of the night. I had kindly asked my neighbor once to lower the volume but it came back. Host didn’t seem to enforce the quiet hours so I ended up leaving early.
