Beautiful, simple, and nicely laid-out campground! So many of of the sites are right next to the creek, which provided relaxing water sounds throughout the day and night. Vault toilets were around everywhere, and were all super clean and well-stocked with toilet paper. I loved it here- and I'll be back soon! Definitely less crowded during the weekdays if you're like me and prefer a quiet, solo camping time!

Nice spot! Cool shady sites, close to the creek, nice and uncrowded… lots of Poison Oaks however…

Wheeler Gorge is overall lacking. Lacking amenities like clean restrooms, running water, accurate signage. 1. Our stay was 30 DEC 2021 to 02 JAN 2022, not a busy time of year, yet the rest rooms were in shambles.
2. This campground does not have running water. Yes, this is noted in multiple places and we were prepared. However, this is totally unacceptable for a $25/night campground.
3. None of the campsites had updated occupancy signage. Some still showed reserved signs from the middle of November. It appears the camp host never leaves the trailer up update signs or to deliver hangtags to new campers.
Very poorly managed. I would rather backcountry camp than pay $25 for nothing.

The pit toilets, grounds were very clean. Camp Host paid attention to who entered/left area. I felt safe

The camp host was incredibly friendly and even though there was a fire ban we had a blast for my birthday camping trip. We went online and got registered for using propane stoves and used hot water bottles to stay warm at night. Campgrounds were kept very clean, it was exactly what the doctor ordered.

Nice campground. The spot was pull through and paved. We were able to get our 30’ trailer plus truck in without blocking the road. We spoke to one staff member. I forget his name, but he was friendly and helpful. The small creek running through the campground was nice. I’d come back again.

Beautiful, relaxing location, with friendly and helpful camp hosts. Super close to Ojai making accessing the site easy. Would definitely camp here again.

Had a memorable stay at this spacious sight right by the gorge. Very relaxing sound of creek all along. Restrooms were well maintained. Host was very helpful.
Make sure to keep adequate water with you, since the campsite does not have water.

Not as isolated as it looks on the map: very close to busy road. Restrooms were clean. No running water. Creek very dry due to drought. Gets cold at night, bring extra blankets.
