The campsites are very pleasant, the only drawback I found was the proximity of a highway the ran along the length of the camps. Being that I camped at a spot where the road was less than 50' from my tent, the occasional vehicle passing by in the night tended to wake me up. In the future I would probably look to reserve a site that is on the other side of the creek that runs through the camp. Other than that the camp was clean, facilities were conveniently placed, and the host even had cords of wood available for sale.
I look forward to my next visit.

Wheeler Gorge is a lovely spot nestled in the mountains with gorgeous wildlife and a gorgeous stream running through it. A lot of campsites have direct paths to the stream for access and it’s fun to follow the stream as far as you can for a little adventure. The people who run the campground are very friendly and welcoming.

Wheeler Gorge is a go to Spring camping spot. Water flows all over throughout the campground. The nature hike out of the campground has a nice display of Wildflowers. Late Spring and Early Summer after wet Winters the creek is really great for the kids. Be ready for bugs and watch out for ticks. Although most sites are very shady, a few are really sunny and would not be fun in the Summer. Great hosts work here!

This is a nice campsite but missed a few points on our stay. They have a gate that is unnecessarily locked overnight which is annoying and feels like they’re trying to police us. My biggest complaint was the bathrooms - the hosts didn’t clean the bathrooms once during our 3-day stay. By the third day, the floor was covered in toilet paper and the toilet paper rolls were out.

Great Campgound. Lots of shade, cool little stream running through the campground that the kids love to explore. Nice, easy hiking trail near the camp with markers. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful campground nestled in the Los Padres National Forest. All sites are close to the babbling creek around which the campground is situated. Sites at the north end are nicely spaced apart allowing for privacy. Nice easy Nature Trail loop off north end. No showers but vault toilets were well ventilated and clean.
