One of the best camping experiences we had. Staff are super friendly. The sites are small so if you have a tent that is 10x14” like us, book a double site. Also, bug spray and citronella is highly recommended.

We were here midweek in February. Had beautiful weather and the place to ourselves just about. Very clean and quiet. The hosts are excellent and very happy to have us there. Very attentive and run the campground the way a host should.
There is no water so be sure to bring your own. Ojai, Ca. is about 15 minutes away with everything you might need. No cell service. Lots of things to do. We can't wait to go back.

It was great to get a nice campsite at a nearby campground. Our site was large and level for our 2 person Meerkat trailer. It was appointed with a fire pit, a grill, and a picnic table. The site was backed by a running creek and surrounded by large trees. At night the sky was very dark, so you could see thousands of stars and many planets. The campground hosts were very kind and accommodating. They enjoyed stopping by to chat and see how we were doing-- very friendly. The campground does not supply any water-- YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN WATER. This is a major consideration particularly when washing dishes, which uses more water than I figured. There is a nature walk along the creek and over the hillside. There is also evidence of bear activity, but we saw no bears. I would consider returning in the spring for a 1-2 night stay, the lack of potable water limits the length of stay.

We had a great time at Wheeler Gorge -- camping with the sound of the stream was very nice. We did a hike to the Piedra Blanca formations -- fabulous. Note that you do have to rock hop cross the Sespe river.

A really beautiful place to visit! Each site is spacious and not too close from neighboring sites. Avoid those sites that are right next/around the bathrooms. Hiking trails were not maintained due to covid, so we didn’t get to explore much. We stayed here during weekdays and had a great time. The camp host was very nice and responsible. We will visit again!
