What Guests Are Saying
Sycamore Grove Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with green grass, spacious sites, and clean bathrooms, including coin-operated showers. Many guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a great stop for travelers. However, some concerns were raised about noisy campers, the condition of pit toilets, and occasional issues with camp host interactions. Overall, it's considered a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature, especially for short stays.

This campground was well maintained and the campground host, John, was very helpful. I would camp here again.
There was one camp site that appeared to be a long term residence camp site as evidenced by an over abundance of trash and recycling product within their camp site.
The bathrooms were locked and outhouses were provided.
This campground is beautiful with its watered lawns, old growth shade trees, views of Lassen and the Sacramento River.

This is a quiet and shady campground and our experience was pretty good. Our hookups worked appropriately and our campsite was relatively flat.
Two things keep me from giving it five stars. First, the restrooms were closed with Covid-19 signs on the doors. They were replaced with Port-a-Potties. California State Parks opened their restrooms many months ago. I suspect this is a staffing and budget problem. It costs money to clean restrooms. Will the Forest Service get some infrastructure money?
Second, there is no dump station on site. This campground would be much better if it had one.

Grump host who was horrible. One one portable toilet for the whole campsite. But the trails are fantastic very well groomed and planned.

We have a Class A Motorhome and the Tree Branches in the Campground were too Low. Lucky for us there was no damage to the roof. A lot of homeless campers sleeping in cars etc. No Sewer or Dump station.
