What Guests Are Saying
El Capitan Canyon Resort offers a peaceful and clean environment, making it a great choice for families and friends seeking a relaxing getaway. Guests appreciate the beautiful grounds, stargazing opportunities, and cozy accommodations, such as yurts and cabins. While some staff at the market may be less friendly and the cabins are basic, the overall experience is enjoyable, with many visitors expressing a desire to return.

We spent a night at El Capitan Canyon Resort in order to see how this Clamping is like. Normally we stay at Alisal Ranch for Birthday celebrations, but really enjoyed our stay here! We stayed in the Elderberry units, which we (myself, wife and 4 of our friends) found to be clean, well stocked and peaceful. Had a great time for only staying one night. We all wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely return for a longer stay. Fun time. Thanks!

Amazing! If you don't catch it during Tesla season.
I'm a surfer that's been going to this area since the early '90s. So take my advice with a grain of salt.
Love surfing, refugio and lcap when it's good, but there's a whole bunch of City folk that don't really know the difference between a salamander and a snake that rent these cabins.
The pool's good. Make sure there's no wind.
The yurts are pretty cool and we've also stayed in the cabins by the creek.
It's fun, so try your luck

My family attends for thanksgiving every year and we have been going to El Cap for 15 years now ever since myself and my sister were little kids. It has a lovely atmosphere with no light pollution making stargazing and night walks a MUST whenever we go. Overall absolutely beautiful place with lovely staff—much love and thanks from the Black family 🥰thanks for having us and for all the awesome memories!

We came here in December while we were visiting Solvang. The grounds and landscapes are beautiful, great for families tons of places to walk around and be outside and roam. The room it itself was a cabin with six beds…feelsvery much like you’re in a cabin in the woods. There is a bathroom heating, etc. The market on site is a nice plus because you can have breakfast and dinner from the property itself. The staff at the market can be a little grumpy and the cabin is a cabin, so don’t expect anything luxurious. Bring your equipment for campfires and s’mores, buying them at the market is $$$.

We went here for a school camping trip. We had so much fun. The rooms are cozy. With a picnic table and fire pit in front of the cabin. We stayed by the creek. The loft inside is a fun space for older kiddos. My toddler loved it but was too tricky to have her up there. The staff helped us find a solution quickly to help create safety. We were able to take the ladder off when we needed to.
