What Guests Are Saying

Kirby Cove Campground offers a unique camping experience with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and spacious, private sites. While visitors should prepare for a short hike from the parking lot and bring their own water, the clean facilities, helpful rangers, and beautiful beach atmosphere create a memorable stay. Some campers faced challenges with gate access and wind, but overall, the campground's charm and location near San Francisco make it highly recommended.

All sites are walk in only. That wasn’t obvious to us when making the reservation. Beautiful beach with views of the city and bridge. During our stay (mid-May ‘23) lots of ticks throughout the area.

a lovely quiet little known spot close to the city. spectacular views of Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, and the beach. the campsites are roomy and have several picnic tables and a box to lock away food from the critters. I saw many species of birds. Bring water

It is very doable to camp on a weeknight and go to work the next morning. It’s worth it to have a night hearing the waves and getting to be in the headlands for sunrise and sunset without having to deal with parking.

A hidden gem right next to the bridge. I never would have guessed there was such an expansive, lush space for group camping right under the headland's scenic overlooks I've been to a million times. Nice sounds: lots of wild songbirds making music. Not nice sounds: nonstop foghorns the entire week. Non. Stop. Bring good earplugs!

It was a beautiful campground and the site was much bigger than I expected. We really enjoyed the extra picnic tables it made things a lot easier with all the extra space. We are going to come back as soon as possible.

It is a beautiful campground, the views are incredible! We fell asleep listening to the ocean and enjoyed sunrises from our site. Definitely keep your food in the locker as the raccoons are way too friendly! We enjoyed hiking from our campsite, no need to move the car once we arrived.

Amazing campground. There are spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the camp and it essentially has it's own private beach. Also a battery located right in the camp for some history lessons.
