What Guests Are Saying
Dinkey Creek offers a beautiful natural setting with excellent hiking opportunities and friendly camp hosts who provide helpful service. The campground is well-maintained, and many visitors appreciate the spacious campsites and clean facilities. However, issues such as the lack of functioning flush toilets and potable water have caused some inconveniences, alongside noise from generators and nearby campers. Overall, many families enjoy returning to this campground for its charm and the memorable experiences it provides.

Campground restroom were well keep as always. Now that the dead tree have been removed it would be nice if the roads inside the campground could be fixed, been in disrepair for two years now.

Awesome, great double camp site. It has two fire pits and a lot free firewood lying around everywhere. The creek and store are extremely close and the bathroom w a water spigot is nearby. Plenty of shade for a good tent setup and a great spot for a hammock. Beautiful spot but I will say the drive to the campgrounds was a little scary but worth it.

Went on a family camping trip with my two young 3 and 7 year old boys. We absolutely loved it. Given that my boy's were younger, the creek ended up being much more kid friendly than the larger Shaver lake near bye. We also got to catch small trout in the creek, a ton of them too. I would strongly recommend Dinky creek to anyone with small children, even babies as the creek has a lot of shallow pools for you to hang out in. We didn't get a chance to explore the hiking trails, but the rocks behind most campsites are more than enough to do mini rock climbing and keep the kids entertained for hours.

Camping at Dinkey Creek is really beautiful. A car or a truck with good ground clearance is preferable as some of the roads in the campground loops are not in great shape. Many of the sites are not suitable for a trailer or an RV.

We loved this campground. We had two sites, both had plenty of space and conveniently located with a short walk to the restroom. It was a quiet, family-friendly experience. Our camping neighbors were respectful. The creek up the road from the campground was beautiful, and we enjoyed fishing there in the afternoon. The staff and camp host were friendly, and kept the bathrooms clear and fully-stocked with toilet paper. There is a small store as you enter the campground, and the town of Shaver Lake is about 12 miles away. Definitely worth a visit to Shaver Lake, where you can rent boats, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, etc. Bugs were not too bad and thought it was hot, we were able to find shade. Great experience!
