What Guests Are Saying
Upper Little Truckee campground is well-regarded for its clean facilities, including spotless bathrooms, and a friendly camp host, Vern, who goes above and beyond to enhance visitors' experiences. The campground offers spacious sites and is close to a lovely creek, ideal for relaxation and hiking. However, some guests noted the noise from nearby Highway 89 and inaccuracies in online maps, as well as a lack of hosts on-site for assistance.

It was convenient to be able to book our campsite online. We had a great off-grid experience, and the camp host was very nice and helpful. We will definitely camp at this campground again.

The campground was really well maintained. The camp host was super nice. The restrooms were super clean. The only drawback of the visit was n't evenmthe campground, it was the smoke from the Mosquito Fire and that only lasted about 3 hours then is was blue skies again.

We loved camping riverside! This was our fav camping trip this summer. The host is super nice and helpful. River is low but was great for my 7yr old he could cross the river and play around the water is pretty mellow there. Plenty of shade and sun to enjoy.

Great place to stay. Although no water for showering, they do have a toilet. Great and close to fishing, hiking and town of Markleville for dining, and cocktails. Good ol Gunny, camp host is always available if you need anything.

Vern the host was fantastic. Very friendly. When camping I have never seen restrooms so clean. He is checking the restrooms all day long to make sure they stay clean. He’s also very aware if someone has come into the park that doesn’t belong there or have reservations. I felt very safe at this campground and it was very comforting. I highly recommend camping here and have already told family and friends about our great experience. We will be camping here again. Thank you Vern for the great experience we had and how friendly you are with everyone.

Site 16 was perfect distance from the highway, close enough to the bathroom and had its own water spigot. It also had its own River viewing spot! We brought a medium sized 4 person tent that fit okay at this site, the camp host suggested a different tent site that would have worked really well. The camp host was doing a great job keeping everything in working order and the bathrooms clean.
