What Guests Are Saying
Upper Little Truckee campground is well-regarded for its clean facilities, including spotless bathrooms, and a friendly camp host, Vern, who goes above and beyond to enhance visitors' experiences. The campground offers spacious sites and is close to a lovely creek, ideal for relaxation and hiking. However, some guests noted the noise from nearby Highway 89 and inaccuracies in online maps, as well as a lack of hosts on-site for assistance.

I didnβt like it there. It is very close to the hi-way. It is also close to the river, but not to easy to access. I didnβt stay.

We really enjoyed our mostly peaceful experience here. We love our camp host Vern! He is always helpful and has tips and stories for us. We enjoyed seeing a Toad, Snakes, Birds, Beavers and otters on our trip.

Had a great time. It has easy access to the river down a little trail. Clean restrooms. A great place to go and get away from technology.

Nice place. Vern, the campground host was super friendly. Cleanest toilets I have ever seen in a campground. We left midway on our stay because the smoke from the Dixie fires.

I've been coming here about 4 times a year and the camp host is hands down the one of the most polite, considerate and just over all on top of his craft. The campgrounds facilities are always clean and stocked and heβs got firewood ready for any camp size.
The campgrounds is backed up in a stream thatβs great for swimming, fishing and of courseβ¦ that picture perfect scenery for The Gram aka InstaGram for the boomers.
I give the campground and total experience a 10/10

Great location, I believe all sites can accommodate RVs (from what I saw when walking around the campground). The host, Vernon, was super helpful and welcoming. The site was very close to the river. We had a great time tent camping in the area and it looked like all of the campsites provided some shade and some privacy (some sites more than others). Campsite was very clean.
Something to note - the campsite is VERY close to the highway (we knew this when reserving); however, there was not much traffic in the afternoon or evening, so it wasn't bothersome. The water was very low as well but we understand it was due to redirecting the water source to another location. We were still able to catch some fish and the host directed us to some great fishing holes. Bathrooms were closed but port-a-potties were available.
