Bears seemed out of control. 4 incidents in 2 nights including one coming up behind us at night and another jumping in our car the second we opened it — all while strongly obeying the bear box rules. I understand we’re in their space but they were totally desensitized to humans. It certainly wasn’t cute and it cast a negative light on our experience. Sorry but the situation is out of control and it’s clear that management is not in control of it.
Otherwise the lake is pretty and the grounds are clean.

This is a fun Campground. The Staff running the campground go above and beyond to help their guests and keep things nice. We had to leave a couple days early and they went above and beyond to make sure we go a refund without even asking. Thank you, Fallen Leaf Campground Staff you're the best.

We love Fallen Leaf. The sites are very nice and the bathrooms are super clean.
Kids can ride bikes, run and play!
The lake is so nice and it is not as crowded.

Friendly staff upon entering campground. We ran into a bear that swiped our peanut butter as we had the bear box open to make dinner. Otherwise, great spot! My boyfriend ended up having a fever in the middle of the night, so we packed up and left a night earlier, and they even refunded us! Which was a pleasant surprise.

My wife and I were in site #33. It was a nice site with a lot of open space, The reason I giving a rating of very good instead of excellent is because the mens potty not urinal was out of order.

I love staying at Yurt 191. One issue this trip was that a wasps nest was in the roof conapy and I reported to staff. I was stung in the face and my wife was stung on the hand. They moved in on our 2nd night of 4 night stay. But apart from that we will always go back. We are booked again for yurt 191 in August for 3 nights.

STOP GENERATOR USE. Nice campground but overused. Excellent campground hosts who do their best to keep things operating. As usual, use of generators is a HUGE problem and so unnecessary.

Loved Fallen Leaf. Site 70 was a great site for our campervan. Almost level and well spaced from next door neighbors (but since neighbors are pull-throughs you will most likely be listening to generators, which can run all day at Fallen Leaf). We were close enough to walk to lake. Close to bathroom which was clean with flush toilets. Electricity did not work in either men's or woman's bathroom. There is a bike trail over to Lake Tahoe and So. Lake Tahoe. Fallen Leaf Rd is a horrible mess and whoever is responsible should be re-paving the whole thing.
