Always love staying here. Only issue this trip is with the electrical outlets in the bathrooms intentionally shut off.. Fortunately one of the hosts turned the outlets on in the bathroom we used.

The people working the kiosk were great. Its very hard to get reservations here so we ended up with a longer stay and they were so flexible about letting different family members stay in our site on different days so everyone could enjoy the campsite. Our campsite was cramped for fitting our rv and car but it had a lot of living space behind it for group gatherings. The campground is huge (200+ sites) It might be nice to go in a season other than summer when it would be cooler and less crowded.

The campground and Fallen Leaf Lake are amazing, the park staff was friendly with easy access to the lake and trails. It is a short bike ride to Camp Richardson and the amenities there. We definitely will be going back!
Warning:
- No joke you are in bear country. We had one come into our campsite as we were wrapping up dinner and we heard people scaring bears away every evening and morning
- You may have 1 bar of cell coverage, but that means you may be able to send texts and make calls every once in a while. Do not expect any data coverage at all unless you bring it yourself.

Site #103 is a very nice, private, shaded site. The rest rooms are clean, the staff very friendly. Our only complaints are the BEARS! With all of our food stored as instructed, she still came in our camp, lunged at me and our dog and charged and swatted at my boyfriend. None of the “scare the bear” techniques worked. He ended up running to the camp host for assistance. She was tagged already, a bear this aggressive should be relocated by the bear league, way too many kids, etc. in the campground. The same night we were visited again by a smaller bear, not as aggressive, but not in fear of us either. This is definitely a problem, and I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon, unfortunately.

Too many bears in campground. I did not feel safe sleeping in a tent with bears all around.

WE always love camping Fallen Leaf! The campsites are wonderful, and the hike over to the ruins is pretty special. To top it off, the water temperatures delightful for swimming. What more could we ask for?
