Lovely site with partial shade and sun. We needed leveling on one side for our Sprinter van. Instead of backing in, we headed in so that our screen door would be on the side of the picnic table and campfire ring. Only saw ONE bear! Easy walk to a clean restroom. Rode our bikes to the clean shower house. Also rode our bikes to Fallen Leaf Lake where we got phone reception!!

Really well kept facilities. All the campsites are well kept and shady. The ranger staff was friendly. No bears in sight but they are around for sure.

Everything at this campground is low-key, but wonderful. The staff running the check-in station were extremely friendly, helpful and engaged. It's nice that you can purchase tokens for showering onsite and you don't have to go far for the restrooms. The campgrounds are situated closer together than Nevada Beach, but the sites on the periphery are quite expansive. The only drawback was the bears. The last night of my most recent stay, 4 separate bear sightings occurred about an hour apart starting at 8PM. This was accompanied by MANY people screaming, blowing car and air horns, starting cars, banging pots, etc. Yes, I get the necessity of moving the animals along, but from the sounds of it, the sightings didn't occur in the same location each time. If you are in a RV or trailer, no biggie. I was in a tent, alone, and it made getting sleep even that much more difficult.
I would go back, but reconsidering the use of tent here.

My favorite campground. It is clean and kept up! All outdoor activities are here. The staff is friendly and helpful. Make sure you store your food properly in the bear boxes. There are plenty of bears that aren’t bashful and are out at all hours of the day and night.

Campsite was in good shape, neighbors quiet, Fallen Leaf has been my fave for years now. I learned to be more careful about bears after one got trapped in the car of a camper across from me and ripped the interior apart trying to get out. Yikes. Folks, take them seriously, keep food out of the car, and by all means lock it.
