LOVE Nevada Beach Campground. HATE the fact that many times half of it is empty. Apparently, the folks at Tahoe Recreation don't want to be bothered with the hassle of dealing with no shows - so people reserve their spot, pay for it, but then don't show up. Tahoe Recreation won't release those spots to anyone else, even after several days... just in case the people who reserved it show up... that's dumb.
Here's how it SHOULD work:
If you don't show up within 24 hours of your reservation and you don't call, you lose your spot, and lose your reservation money. Then that spot should go back into available inventory.
It's a shame to have such a beautiful facility not fully utilized, due to rude campers and lazy operations.

We visited this campground in September and it was beautiful! The campground sites are a good size, there are scattered trees, open, no privacy, clean bathrooms, and a few minutes walk to Lake Tahoe. I would definitely come again.

We love camping here but find it impossible to get a spot during the summer. I wish there was a lottery or a way to balance out the opportunity to get a campsite during the peak season.

Excessive generator noise. There are very weak restrictions on use and some people run them all day long. Also they allow loud contractor grade generators.

I would visit again if that spot is available.
It has very spacious and clean. My spot was very close to beach.
Especially there was tap water in my camp spot.
So convenient.
