The camping site boasts excellent facilities and breathtaking scenery.
However, I had an unpleasant experience with the staffs.
You won't be helped or even able to catch anyone to rescue if anything happened. Please keep in mind.
You probably will be experiencing complete indifference from start to finish, you are on your own.
When my car got locked out, (the only live person I could find) Cody showed no concern. It was puzzling to see that there was hardly a staff member around, except for the old lady in the laundry room, she is the most helpful person in the area – a rather ironic situation.
I learned that the Manager was out of office until noon since driving to Reno, NV, and he claimed to be under strict instructions not to disclose the manager's contact details no matter what happens. It left me with the impression that even if someone were to be in drowning here, he/they would likely remain apathetic, engrossed in his computer at the store.

We always love Meeks Bay. The help is not very friendly but met all our needs, and kids on golf carts posting signs for campers through the sites with very questionable music coming from the carts was disrespectful. That should be addressed.
It did seem that the beach clean up and surrounding campsites has improved.
We will always come back to the beauty of Tahoe! And Meeks Bay is one of most wonderful spots on earth.

We stayed here for a week. Felt a bit like camping but in a unmaintained cabin.
Pros: lakefront with good views. Very short walk to sandy beach. Picnic area in front of the cabin is nice. Kitchen has all the basics.
Cons: Upon arriving at 3pm we were told that our cabin was not ready. We were told to come back. We were finally allowed to check in around 4:30pm. Cabin is not well maintained and could use some TLC. Cobwebs throughout the window sills and doorways inside the cabin. When you open up the windows you will notice that several of the window screens are held together by duck tape. Bathroom smells like mildew. Linoleum bathroom floor is unkept. There is very little room between the bathroom sink and toilet. Sheer curtains throughout cabin provide very little privacy and allow light in your face as soon as the sun rises. If you want new towels or linens you will need to request them and hope that someone brings them over. Trash will never be picked up until you check out.
