What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with ample shaded and spacious sites, making it ideal for families and groups. Many campers enjoyed the proximity to trails, visitor centers, and stunning views of the surrounding giant sequoias. While some noted issues with bathroom cleanliness and site proximity, the overall experience was positive, with a strong desire to return for the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Many of the sites have a fairly steep slope, but they're big, clean, and beautiful!

The bathrooms were filthy all over the parks. I would expect that the campground's bathrooms, ones that get less daily usage and are where people have paid additional money to stay, would be cleaner. I've been in so many vault toilet buildings that were cleaner and smelled better.

Large party I occurred in the campground at a neighboring lot.

The campground was busy. The camp site was small and really close to other camp sites. The amenities were clean. I wish there had been soap in the bathrooms. My family really enjoyed being right next to the visitor center, Kings Canyon and the Colonel Grant tree. There was no beating the location.

As we were standing there, my husband and I said to one another that we felt bad for anyone who has not come up to Glory of the California. We picked this spot on a whim because Lodge Pole filled up in the first 30 seconds and this was what was open. It was the best decision ever. We were right in the middle of Kings canyon and Sequoia national Forest. We were able to take a drive one day to the dead end of Kings canyon to see beautiful waterfalls and rivers. The next day we went to Sequoia to see the world's biggest tree and we were camped by the world's second biggest tree. I highly recommend this exact campground to anyone. It was absolutely amazing!

the site size was fine for our trailer but there was not enough space to maneuver the trailer into the site due to bushes, trees, rocks, and parked vehicles.

Ein wunderschöner Platz mitten im Wald, fussläufig zu Riese Sequoia Bäumen. Leider keine Duschen und die Sanitäranlagen haben ihre beste Zeit hinter sich. Aber der schöne Platz macht es wett.

What an amazing site! I’d definitely recommend and stay here again. It’s a very spacious, large site with lots of trees and boulders. It was so scenic and felt very secluded, although it was close to the trails along with the lodge, visitor center, and gift shop.
I will say that the signage wasn’t the best or maybe I just overlooked the site a couple times as I had to loop around a second time then I found it. It’s not close to the bathroom so prepare for a bit of a walk but you’ll enjoy the beauty around you.

Amazing site! Had lots of cool rocks to explore and lots of big trees. Plus it was far away from your neighbors so you had a lot of privacy

The campground is great, there’s a trail from the campground to General Grant and we really enjoyed it. The campground is great however this site is not. It’s the closest I’ve ever been to my neighbors camping and there wasn’t any shrubs to separate us. We basically ate dinner staring into each others eyes haha. We did stay at a different site in the same campground and it was nice and gave decent distance between each other. Plus the bathroom near this specific site isn’t great.
