What Guests Are Saying

Azalea Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with ample shaded and spacious sites, making it ideal for families and groups. Many campers enjoyed the proximity to trails, visitor centers, and stunning views of the surrounding giant sequoias. While some noted issues with bathroom cleanliness and site proximity, the overall experience was positive, with a strong desire to return for the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Easy to find our spot and enough space between sites so you’re not right on top of your neighbor. It looked like most all sites had some shade from sun and there were plenty of open areas for stargazing at night. We were surprised that so many sites were empty, it appeared that they had been booked and no-showed without cancelling which wasn’t very considerate to those who were passing through the area.
Everyone in our immediate area observed the quiet hours, flushable restrooms and wash sink for dishes were a short walk away. Restrooms were clean, trash and recycling bins were located in multiple spots, bear bins were large enough to accommodate plenty of storage.
I was disappointed to find that the couple before me to wash dishes left a substantial amount of noodles in the sink. I loved our California trip that included backpacking in Yosemite, hiking in Sequoia and Pinnacles NP but I was constantly reminded of how others treat common areas, disregard their trash and seem to lack campground etiquette. I think if you want to truly enjoy yourself get away from the crowds.

I can’t understate how much we loved this camp site! Beautiful spot backing up to a meadow. About a mile, gorgeous hike to General Grant grove. Bathrooms were very clean and every spot has tons of privacy. Our favorite spot on our trip!

Someone else had a reservation for the same spot I had reserved. We spoke and we showed each other the reservation info on our phones and concluded it was double booked. I and to find another spot in the Azalea campground.

We absolutely love this site! Our daughter had so much fun exploring it with the boulders and logs and trees. We found several great places to set up tents and sleep. We liked how close the bathrooms are and that we could get water as well. We noticed a nearby site with electric hookups, it was empty, but assumed that this may be a campground host site when/if they have campground hosts? We liked having a camp host (if that is what that site is for) located nearby. The neighbors were quiet and respectful. The parking is a little interesting with 3 sites having spaces close together - but the sites seemed to have plenty of space and everyone was great.

This site is awful! It is small and directly across from a much larger site (which encourages large groups and lots of noise). When we arrived and saw our site, there was no where level for a tent, no trees to even hang a hammock. The public water faucet was so close it looked like part of the site. The campsite across from it was big and we thought it might be a group site at first because there lots of tents, tables, and 3 cars there. The sites are limited to 6 people, we saw at least 7. They were blasting their music and had set up at least 2 additional tables to accompany the existing picnic table. No one in our group felt safe staying in this tiny site because of how rowdy the group across from us was being. We searched for a campground host or anyone who worked there who might enforce the rules - but no one was around to help. We left without staying the night and went and found another site at Sunset Campground. Sunset Campground was so much better!

We were able to walk to some top sights from the campground. Loved the deer and the many chipmunks that shared our campsite.
