What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with ample shaded and spacious sites, making it ideal for families and groups. Many campers enjoyed the proximity to trails, visitor centers, and stunning views of the surrounding giant sequoias. While some noted issues with bathroom cleanliness and site proximity, the overall experience was positive, with a strong desire to return for the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location between Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

We had a very nice quiet site away from the front which had sites close together. But the bathroom was a far, far ways away - especially after spending our day hiking. Would suggest placing a couple port-a-pots with hand washing stations in areas that are a distance from regular bathrooms.

The site was very nice and spacious. We had no problem setting up multiple tents. The rangers and campground hosts on site were very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the amenities and the showers within the campground were very nice. Only downfall was that there was not great accommodations for dishwashing, but obviously that’s common with camping.

Very nice, clean site. Quiet campground with sufficient space in between the camp sites. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Grant Cove was a walking distance away while General Sherman tree was a 45 minute drive.
Very nice stay!

Loved the campground, rating 4 stars for a couple minor points. This campsite has a shared parking lot with the neighboring campsite and I don’t think that’s super obvious to everyone, could do with better signage or advertising. The lot is also a little slanted, including the spot you’d pitch your tent, but by the second night we didn’t notice the slanting. Of all the campsites in Azalea, this one is a little further from the bathrooms BUT it probably is one of the best sites for stargazing since you’re mostly in a clearing. Loved our weekend here!!! Rangers were friendly and helpful, the general store is super close by, and we liked being able to walk 10 minutes to the grove so we could enjoy it outside the busy hours.

An excellent campground centrally located near several hiking trails and Grant Grove Village. Site 24 was spacious and semi-private for our Revel van.
