This is a great campground that is close to the entrance, close to General Grant Tree, and close to the visitor center (the only wifi in the north section of the park- no AT&T service in the park). The campground is itself scenic with lots of granite boulders and trees and hills and a sunset vista.

Site was right next to the walking trail to the visitor center or General Grant Grove, which was nice but also meant a lot of people coming and going. Otherwise, it's a beautiful spot under the trees and dark at night. Parking was large enough to fit a camper van and passenger vehicle. Biggest issue was that there were ant mounds everywhere on the tent pad, which was not an issue for me (car camping) but may be a concern for a tent. Note that there isn't a formal check-in process; you're considered checked in if a ranger passes by (around 12:30–12:45) and sees your set-up, so you'll need to leave a message at the campground number when you arrive if you're not setting up a tent so you don't get your reservation cancelled.

Hiked sunset trail along sequoia creek. Site 109’s proximity to site 110 was kind of weird but I had good neighbors so it was fine. Was really rad to have the creek running right under our site.

Due to weather conditions most of the park was closed, which meant that very few people were around and we loved there! The campground gives a lot of space for each tent, and the restrooms were very clean.

From Fresno, CA, take Highway 180 East for 1 1/2 hours. Vehicles over 22 feet are not advised between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum when entering through Sequoia National Park. Vehicles over 22 feet should use the Kings Canyon National Park Entrance.
Azalea Campground is accessible via Highway 180, which connects Fresno to Sequoia National Park and is approximately 25 miles away.
