About Azalea Campground

Azalea campground is centrally located in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in central California's rugged Sierra Nevada range. This campground is at an elevation of 6,500 feet. Late spring, summer and early fall the campground is on reservations. When it is not on reservations sites are first come first served and paid for by using the rec.gov scan and pay app. Find out more here.

Azalea Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with ample shaded and spacious sites, making it ideal for families and groups. Many campers enjoyed the proximity to trails, visitor centers, and stunning views of the surrounding giant sequoias. In regards to snow tent camping here, I HIGHLY recommend talking to whoever is managing the site that day. Our group had a terrible experience with a ranger the first day who was arbitrarily determining how close tents needed to be next to fire pits (of which, there appears to be no actual rule).
