Buckeye Flat Campground

My husband and I loved this campground. Our site was on the river so quite noisy but wonderful for sleeping. It was not particularly close to neighbors. Some of the other sites were more crowded together and good for extended groups. Bathroom facilities were always clean and never too crowded even at busy times of day. It was a little far from most of the trail heads and any facilities, but that was not a problem as the site was just so beautiful.

One of the best locations in the park. Great shade, hiking, and river activities all right there.

This place was amazing, very lively, but during our stay on day 2 our campground neighbors yelled at us while we were playing a card game too keep it down. They did not walk over to let us know, they YELLED at us. Mind you every other neighbor was playing music and gathered around the camp fire but, we got yelled at it was RIDICULOUS and set everyone off :( We would Love to come back but, we are very scared of neighbors now.

Such an amazing campground! Lots of little trails that lead you to the most gorgeous swimming holes. I took video of this part of the river and watch it in the cold season when I am getting the winter blues. The campground and restrooms are very well-maintained.

The campground itself is lovely. Very small. Depending on which site you get, you can hear the river. The road you take from the main road to the campground is very narrow (it would be pretty hard to have two vehicles pass each other on it). The bathroom facilities were pretty nice by camping standards.

The downside was a few massive groups (14 people?) who were playing music very loudly well after quiet hours. There was no camp host present and no ranger. So pretty much you just had deal with their obnoxiously loud music and loud talking until they were done. Luckily for us we were far away from their site, but even with the sound of the river, you could still hear it. Because you are so close to the river (you can walk down to it) it attracts a lot of rowdy "party by the river" people.

So as pretty as it was, we will not stay there again. We go camping for the outdoors, not to hear someone else's music all night. We've camped in the Sequoia area many times and this was the first time we have dealt with so many loud campers.

They say on the website not to bring wood in, but then there is no wood available to purchase, so that was frustrating the first night. Not a great place to stay if your goal is to see the sites in the park itself, like the big trees, etc. due to the switchbacks, however it is a wonderful place to stay on its own merit.

Love that there are areas for kids to enjoy the water, as well as for adults.

Great location. Beautiful park. Only complaint is that several campers were noisy after 10.

This is a great campground with great natural amenities. No complaints about the facilities. Only complaint pertains to all camp grounds. Radios should be prohibited at all campgrounds. To many folks play music ruining the outdoor experience. This camp ground is not patrolled enough so music and excessive noise can go well into the next morning. :(
