Nice spot. Very comfortable and quiet. Easy access to water and facilities. It provided a grade staging point for our backpacking trip over Sawtooth Pass. What's not to like?

Camp site was nice. We had a walk in site, not too far of a walk and no one else around.
The drive in to Mineral King is intense. Be prepared for over 1 hr on narrow, windy mountain road. Some sections near Mineral King are not paved and very rough. It can be done with a standard street car but there will be times when you question the noises your suspension makes as you unintentionally drive into the 34th pothole in a row.

Amazing place once you get there prepare for a long road and dirt roads with uneven terrain recommend suv but I see cars there.

Scary ride up to the campground but didn’t deter us from camping. This is our new secret spot for our adventures. Now I only ask that other people turn their music down because it ruins the idea of disconnecting from the city!

Fantastic camp site. Very off the beaten path and not very crowded. Camp here, but don’t tell your friends so that it can remain a secret!

After hiking all day, we had dinner in Three Rivers. At around 8:30 we started heading to the campground, to which we arrived by taking this narrow road at the speed limit of 10 mph in the vicinity of Three Rivers. It took us an hour and ten minutes to get to the campground. We kept gaining elevation by the minute and was completely dark. My headlights would barely give me the light i needed to follow the road, but it was a little difficult to see ahead of you especially by the curves. By the way, they were more than a hundred curves with a dark and deep cliff beside you. I enjoyed the Fresno radio station, that i can say despite the tense journey to the top of the mountain. When we got there, it was this remote campground. I could hear the river, but not see it in the darkness. We found our campsite, and laid the tent. We had a bonfire and then went to sleep. When i woke up i saw the river finally, and the place was wonderful. It had a few beautiful hikes with spectacular mountain views. It was lovely up there. Harder to drive up there at night, but on our way down it was more relaxes as i was able to see the road better. Just need to be careful with the road and the cars going on the opposite direction.

We were in sites 3 + 4 and enjoyed the creek behind the sites and proximity to the bathroom. Super peaceful and a great place to stay the night before a big hike or backpacking trip in Mineral King!

Even though each site says “reserved” they are NOT reserved. To get internet to book a site you must drive back down the mountain 10 minutes, buy internet for $5 then drive back to your site. The site was beautiful, semi separate from others and near a river. You can have a fire since you are above 5000’. Plenty of downed wood for a fire nearby.

Cold Springs campground is a perfect spot if you like lots of trees, a running stream and more remote camping. The narrow road to the campgrouond winds around upward for about an hour and a half and is only wide enough for one vehicle (even tough it's a two way road). Normally that's no problem but the blind turns make is sketchy and I was going about 10 miles per hour lol. It was fun anyway.
