What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, shaded sites and proximity to the river, making it ideal for hiking and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere and the campground's access to nearby amenities, such as the store and ranger programs. However, the facilities, particularly the restrooms, are in disrepair and require maintenance, which detracts from the overall experience.

Campground was clean. Love they had ash disposal stations and the bathrooms were cleaned at regular intervals. Staff were friendly, and the grounds were in a perfect location.

I appreciated the staff’s flexibility in helping me find a spot that felt truly nurturing. Beautiful space with lots of hiking options nearby.

The campground and campsite were good, as expected. The rangers were nice, and they came around for check-in and bear instructions. I found that the best bathroom at this campground was by the ranger station - it was the biggest, the most functional (still bring your own light though), and had an additional single occupancy bathroom.

Very quiet and peaceful. Lots of beautiful trees and right near the river. I really enjoyed my stay.

Campsite was flat, shady and orderly. The bathroom had a plugged sink, but that’s minor stuff.

Sentinel is a really nice campground. Our site 55 was small compared to the other sites around us, however we had a clearing above us that allowed for some great star gazing. We were cozy, despite the rain on our second night. My only real complaint is that the bathrooms were poorly maintained. Clogged sinks and urinals that didn’t flush. It’s unfortunate that our national parks are being defunded, as I’m sure this was the reason for the lack of service. The ranger station is near by and the village is in walking distance, too. We really did enjoy our stay and will definitely be back.

The site is great!! It’s large, open, cross street from restrooms, running water and utilities sink.
Would stay there again.

Excellent, as always. Best campground/site in the park. Ranger evening talk at Cedar Grove was excellent.

The Roaring River falls was a very short walk for a fabulous view.
