What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

Beautiful campground in the middle of Kings Canyon National Park. There are bathrooms, a visitor center, and a drinking water fountain. No showers!

The most disappointing aspect of the camping trip is that we could only stay 2 nights. All other sites were either full or a VERY FEW were available for 1 night. The first night we observed that nearly 1/3 of the sites were empty. The second night, about the same. I asked the ranger that was driving around the campground, she said it is unfortunate that many people reserve the sites but don't show up and don't cancel to get a partial refund. This is outrageous.
The other problem is that there is no cell service there, in itself, that's why we go camping. But, the rangers don't have service either, so there is no way to tell if a campsite is available or reserved while you're there to possibly extend your stay another night. The Visitor's Center knows nothing about the campsites, only the Campground Office, which also knows no current status. Useless.

Very nice campground. Some bathrooms were closed. The campground is between the river and the road, so more than likely you will be listening to one of them. Overall, a nice and well-kept facility.
