What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

I actually don’t want to write a review about how great this campground, and Kings Canyon, are. I don’t want the secret to get out and have swarms of people show up!!
This campground is the perfect location to explore KC! The visitors center, gen store and showers are just across the street. You’re next to the river for fishing or letting the kids plays in the shallows. The drive to either of the falls or road’s end and Muir Rock are just minutes. And they’re beautiful minutes of driving! Beautiful hikes are within easy reach of the sites…even one that we went on and had NO ONE ELSE THERE THE ENTIRE HIKE!! (But I won’t mention which one that is. You’ll need to do some exploring on your own and see if you can have the same magical experience). This is our 3rd time staying down in the canyon (as opposed to up in Sunset Campground) and this camp is awesome! Sunset was loud and felt kind of “party-ish” or “influencer pit-stop” vibe—Sentinel is quiet and peaceful. We came with 5 other families and we all loved our time here!

Campground and facilities were good. However we did not like the fact that the toilets did not have lights. Also it was not obvious what sinks should be used to wash dishes. Some faucets had handles that you constantly need to hold that made washing/filling water a bit challenging. Also the directions and sign to the campground was not good. We missed the campground as there was no sign on the road. Better signage will be helpful.

A wonderful time was enjoyed by over half my family. My grandkids couldn’t have been more pleased with you Jr. Ranger books and badges. As always Roaring River Falls did not fail to please.
Please as a reminder; put all food, even cooking oils into bear box. Thanks to all.

The bathrooms were clean and the site was good but around 9pm
Cars were honking and people were banging pots we were not sure why as it was another part of the campground. Sadly no rangers were there to help us. People left out plastic bins as they figured this is bear proof and no rangers did anything but earlier that week there was an issue with a bear so not sure why there is no one to be available at the campground for us
