What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

The Rangers at the Sentinel campground were extremely rude. I made contact with one younger female ranger and ahe was pleasant. The older female ranger working inside the Ranger/visitor office was extremely rude. They all seemed like they we re e not happy to be there and tired of càmpers.

Campsites are well-spaced. Rangers make frequent passes thru campground. They warned about frequent bears and how to handle them. No camp-host (but you can buy firewood at market). Market/snack-bar/laundry/showers/pay-phone are a 5 minute walk. No cell-phone or wifi in the valley (unless you are a guest at the lodge)
Ranger-visitor-center next to campground. A few miles drive to Grizzly-Falls or Roaring Falls; a few more miles to Boyden Cave; Zumwalt Meadows; Roads End. Note: still a lot of mosquitos (recommend a mosquito head net and repellent spray).
Tuesday (Aug 20) was fully-populated. Wednesday and Thursday were fully reserved but many unused sites :(

We have been going to Sentinel for over 40 years!! Although it is more crowded with new "dumb" campers trying to learn it is the most peaceful place in the world!!! We scored # 15 one of the best sites by the river. Everyone needs to take care of the campdrounds!!!! Save it for our Grandkids but tell them to leave the "E" bikes at home!! Take a hike!! 30 years ago i hiked with my young nephew up the mountain at roads end. We left 90 degree heat and had lunch in the snow!1 One of the best days of my life!!
