What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

Great stay, huge campsites. Was my second time camping here and I loved it. Bathroom didn't have a light inside, but that also meant there were not any bugs inside either! I love being close to the river and being one of the first people exploring the canyon early in the morning.

You’ll want lower numbered sites, the higher the number the more crowded the sites. This one is just ok.

Clean, spacious, and friendly campgrounds. A bit of a warning though - if you're looking to car-camp, the ground is not very even in the parking area you can drive onto.

Great place to stay. Huge campground but quiet at night and enough space between the campsites where you don't feel it's too busy. Not a lot of privacy, but it's a nice open space with a lot of shade. Everything is clean and well maintain.
Big trees, beautiful nature. Great experience.
The only thing I have to say is that even though I did a research and it said after a certain date I did not needed a reservation when I arrived I did needed one. And there is 0 cell service. They do have a pay phone (free) where you can call and make your reservation by phone. That was great ! I do wish they had some "first come, first serve" campsites. Other people were just leaving or parking in other location to stay the night because they had no idea they could make a reservation on site. All the sites say RESERVED, so you just assume they are all taken, but they just have them as RESERVED for online or phone reservation only. So they are actually NOT all reserved at all. it just does not make much sense to me. They do post a list of campsites reserved on the main board... A few "first come, first served" campsites would be so much easier.

This location was great. There are some great hikes and views close by. The hotel creek trail and lewis trail are really nice. There are no showers here. That's the only downside.
