What Guests Are Saying
Sentinel Campground is well-maintained, clean, and set in a beautiful location near the river with ample hiking opportunities and great privacy between sites. Campers appreciate the friendly rangers and the peaceful atmosphere, especially in quieter months. While some facilities had minor issues, overall, guests enjoy a fantastic experience in nature.

First time here. Had a great time. Other campers were friendly and respectful.

We lost almost a day due that the people before us didn’t leave. To make matters worse they didn’t have reservations until they went to make a phone call to find an empty site. Meanwhile we didn’t know what to do. The rangers try to help but their hands were tie.

It was beautiful, unfortunately my wife left some food from the beach the day before in her chair so a bear came and took the chair in the middle of the night and my wife freaked out so we left. It was a dumb mistake on our part. Normally I’m Uber careful. I didn’t think to check the beach chair which was a mistake in both of us. Oh well, the campsite was absolutely beautiful! I wouldn’t stay again only because there was a bear and the people next to us had said the bear was at their campground the night before and they sprayed it with bear spray and it didn’t even affect the bear. The bear had a tag in it which means it’s a regular so if your into seeing bears 4 feet from your tent at 11pm at night potentially smelling something, than well this is the place to stay. But other than that it’s a beautiful camp site with trees everywhere !

Upon arrival, the first observations I made was cigarette butts, and micro trash, everywhere. After we tried our best to clean it up we set up camp. While not the most dispersed camping, it does offer some great views of the river and trees. The bear box was smelly like a trash can. Contstruction was going on, but unavoidable and I am glad they are doing some upkeep. In conclusions, it is more the lack of respect for the forest from others prior than the fault of NPS. We WILL be back but maybe some other spot. Hopefully people will learn to respect these gentle environments, leave it better than what you found it. I hope we did good by following that after our stay.

This is not a place for camping, but a place to drink and stay up late. Noise went on forever at night. Beer cans and garbage in the toilets. It's maybe a good departure point for hiking or a place to grab for the night, but we had just come from the beautiful Cold Springs Campsite at Mineral springs and it was just horrible. After this went to Hume Lake and stayed at another wonderful campsite, but had to clean out bear box and camp site. People suck. I don't blame you guys.
