I have been coming here for the past 15 years and it is my favorite campground in the area. Easy acres to town and the Truckee River but just far enough to have a quite night under the stars.

Bathrooms and camp ground very clean. Some sites don’t have much between the sites for privacy but they’re far enough away. Large sites with lots of flat ground for tent camping.

On a warm day, Alpine Meadows Campground offers cool shade amidst mighty ponderosa pine grove. Well-designed and well-maintained facility conveniently located on the outskirt of Truckee.

Campsites are well spaced and there are enough trees to provide shade on most sites. Well maintained. Next to Truckee Airport with light small plane traffic when I was there.

Great overnight travel spot. Not really out in "nature", the airport is noisy - but it's right off I-80 and the sites themselves are as nice as you'd expect.

This campground is pretty secluded, set away from the highway there is nothing around. Very quiet the entire time we stayed 4 nights. Every campsite looked about same, I like they are spread apart from each other. No idea why this says waterfront site, theres no water.

This is beyond compare the cleanest camp ground I have stayed in. No red dirt or dust. The pea gravel around the camp site was great. It was so easy to park and set up my trailer as the parking area was level. The bathrooms were clean. Other than being the typical vault toilets they had 3 stalls with one being handy capped accessible (high seat & grab bars). The big plus was: They both had running water, soap, paper towels and an electrical outlet. There where rocked & cleared pathways from each camp site to the bathrooms. Portable water available to fill up upon arrival and drinking fountains throughout the loop.
The campground is small and quiet out in a sage brush meadow with enough pine trees to afford ample shade.
The "lake" wasn't much more than a pond this time of the year but my dog enjoyed swimming. Just a short drive into Truckee or over to Tahoe.
I would like to keep this campground a secret.

Lovely campground, and didn't have much noise from the airport or trains. Very quiet at night. As mentioned elsewhere, sites 10 and 11 have great views out over the valley, with level spacious areas. Vault toilets only, and the ceiling light wasn't working, so take a flashlight. Nice walk down to the lake to stretch my and pup's legs.
