What Guests Are Saying
Alpine Meadow Campground offers a quiet and well-maintained environment with spacious campsites, making it a great choice for those exploring the Tahoe/Truckee area. Many visitors praised the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpfulness of the host. However, caution is advised regarding potential health concerns from tall grass, and some noise from nearby trains and the airport may be an issue for light sleepers.

Great quiet camping spot! There are only 25 sites and it was well spread out so it didn’t feel crowded at all. We really felt like we were in the wild but also such a short way from Truckee downtown which was great for dinner one night and to go to the store. The facilities are pretty minimal with vault toilets and only running water for hand washing and refilling water bottles. The airport is quite close as well so we did hear some airplane noise during the day but nothing at night so it wasn’t really disruptive. Close to some amazing hikes above Tahoe and Donner Lakes. We saw no bears which was great! We previously have camped in South Lake tahoe but it’s very crowded and noisy there. We will definitely be back to this campsite. Feels like a hidden gem!

Sweet, clean campground. No hookups but great for a couple of days of trailer camping.

Loved this quiet site. Felt peaceful and calm. There’s a body of water nearby but you need to drive or ride a bike (dusty trail). Camp host was nice. I have T Mobile and excellent cell service. Very close to North Star.

Very loud, drunk neighbors who left a pile of trash for next campers. Campground hosts did nothing to address issue.
