Our campsite #16 was spacious enough for our 10 person tent. We appreciated the fire pit with the grate, the pole with the hook which we used for our lantern, and the bear locker for our food! There was a clear path to the restrooms and everyone was courteous. We could see and hear people in other campsites but still felt like we had privacy!

Such a peaceful spot to camp. Very well kept, clean, and quiet. Because you’re right next to the airport, you hear airplanes throughout the day and the train. Dependent upon what site you’re at, you might see and hear the skydivers that land close by to the site. Large Bear boxes are provided and there’s no check in process; you just come to your site and set up. It’s around the corner from the lake and about 30 mins from Lake Tahoe.

This campground was immaculate! Logs and sumps lining the roads and camping spots. Rocks were laid round circling small plants. Each site had a picnic table, a bear box, a bbq, a campfire ring and a bear pole with a hook. Bathrooms were very clean. There are about 24 sites including the tent sites. We stayed at site 20 and we did not need to use any leveling ramps.

I was a little bummed that a reservation is now required for this campground. I have been coming here for at least 15 years and it was always great to just show up. Other than that, always a nice place to camp. Well maintained and the hosts have always been friendly and willing to help with any issues that arise.

Campsites were separate enough for privacy and big enough for vehicles.

Took a wonderful drive up Old Highway 40 up to the overlook and bridge and views of Donner Lake on the way . Drive into old Truckee for the day. Geocaching is fun in the area too

I LOVE Alpine Meadows for several reasons! Let's start with a GREAT, FRIENDLY AND INCREDIBLE STAFF! Lori, Tom, Greg and Jessica are the BEST! I have been camping and visiting Alpine Meadows for several years and Lori, Tom, Greg and Jessica always make my trips here feel like I am at home enjoying spending time with family and friends! They greet(know me by name as well as other visitors), wave and stop by several times on every visit(at least 6 trips a year) as they are making their rounds, make sure everything is OK and my experience is enjoyable, exceeding my expectations! The camp grounds are clean, well maintained, including bathrooms, are well stocked and checked throughout the day and the view is very relaxing! I visit several camp grounds a year and this by far is my favorite largely because of the incredible staff and I will definitely continue to visit and look forward to seeing them ALL there! PLEASE let them know how much they are APPRECIATED AND VALUED! THANK YOU!

Unfortunately, the dump station here has been permanently closed. I bet on the expensive side, but spacious paved sites.

Nice campground. Larger campsites than many forest service or BLM campgrounds. The proximity to town and Northstar make it easy to access services, yet the campground doesn't feel like you are camping in town.

{"text"=>"24 rustic campground sites for tents and trailers under 30 feet. We appreciated it not feeling like an RV park with big rigs. Vault toilet, fire ring, broken picnic table, bear locker at the campsite, with water at entrance for filling camper or spigots located around campground loop. No dump station. Weekdays were very quiet. Weekend was a party past 3AM each night from different campsites. All Saturday nights are booked for 2024, yet there were a few empty sites. No penalty for no-shows besides the $20 site fee and minimal reservation fee. Hiss, Boo!", "languageCode"=>"en"}
