What Guests Are Saying
Alpine Meadow Campground offers a quiet and well-maintained environment with spacious campsites, making it a great choice for those exploring the Tahoe/Truckee area. Many visitors praised the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpfulness of the host. However, caution is advised regarding potential health concerns from tall grass, and some noise from nearby trains and the airport may be an issue for light sleepers.

Beautiful view of the lake! Very cold in am. Green hills, and lots of bite flies. Very nice neighbors. Cute kids on bikes,
which seemed safe for the little ones. I will be back again!

Very quiet, well spaced apart camping spots. Total of 25 campsites. You hear the airport lear jets and planes coming, but by mid evening it is quiet. Fun to watch the planes and gliders as they come in and depart. Bathrooms are pit toilets, but well stocked and kept very clean. They also provide hand sanitizer in the bathrooms. Hiking and bike trails close by, as well as stores, restaurants and great walking and bike trail by the Truckee River.

Lovely campground with scattered trees overlooking the alpine meadow. Sites are nicely spaced but non-electric. Water is available at the entrance. No dump station. Convenient to Truckee, Donner Memorial State Park, & northwest shore of Lake Tahoe. Very close to Truckee airport (general aviation), & a meal at the Red Truck Cafe there was very good at a good price while watching the private planes take off & land. Hosts were friendly & helpful. I'll be back.

This campsite was adorable. Incredibly easy to get to and the sites are clearly labeled. The area is gorgeous and there is ample space between the sites to not feel like you're on top of everyone. The sunset was gorgeous and there was a surreal foggy landscape in the morning. We'll definitely be back.
