What Guests Are Saying
Alpine Meadow Campground offers a quiet and well-maintained environment with spacious campsites, making it a great choice for those exploring the Tahoe/Truckee area. Many visitors praised the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpfulness of the host. However, caution is advised regarding potential health concerns from tall grass, and some noise from nearby trains and the airport may be an issue for light sleepers.

Alpine Meadows COE offers large campsites. We had site #15 which provided an unlimited view of the surrounding forest and meadows. The lake was not visible from our site, but offers a nice hike to and around it. We were there during the week and it was very quiet. We were told that the locals whoop it up there in the weekends, though.

The campsites are well maintained and the area is quiet at night. It’s proximity to a private airport does mean airplane takeoff and landing noise during daylight hours. The paved road access to the campground area is in poor condition, requiring slow driving.

Lovely quiet campsite location, close to Truckee and convenient for the lake and Palisades Tahoe resort. Road in is paved but quite bumpy.

Beautiful campground with amazing views from some of the sites. The campground is very well maintained, clean and welcoming. The sites are spaced a nice distance apart. You feel like you're far from the city, but you are actually very close to Truckee, NorthStar and Lake Tahoe.

Enjoyed our stay at this Federal Campground for only $20.00 per night!! A good value and only 10 minute drive to a nice Rally's supermarket. The road in could be repaired. Thank you !
